AIC Professor Nominated For Nursing Award

SPRINGFIELD — Having graduated in May with a Nursing degree from American International College, Carol R. Scott of Springfield admits it was not easy, but one particular professor — Marilyn Breuer — left a lasting impression.
Scott, now a nurse in Bloomfield, Conn., nominated Breuer, of Springfield, associate professor of Nursing at AIC, for the Nurse of the Year Award from Nursing Spectrum magazine.

In her nomination for Breuer, Scott said, “Professor Breuer’s most outstanding quality is her ability to never let me feel less than I am. I live by her famous words, which are to take a deep breath, look on the positive side, and keep telling yourself that you can do it.

“Professor Breuer is a very nurturing person and has an open-door policy when it comes to helping students to achieve in the program,” Scott continued. “She is an excellent instructor and challenges her students in the name of learning. Professor Breuer is as courageous as she is compassionate with her students about education, and I will never forget it.”
