Bay State Health’s Spirit of Women Conference Slated for Nov. 8

SPRINGFIELD — Juliet Funt, life-balance expert and daughter of Candid Camera’s Allen Funt, will be the keynote speaker at Baystate Health’s 15th annual Spirit of Women Conference, “Reclaiming Your WhiteSpace,” set for Friday, Nov. 8 at the MassMutual Center in downtown Springfield.
A nationally recognized expert in coping with the ‘age of overload,’ Funt’s message — which she delivers to clients in a wide array of industries, ranging from financial services to technology; from manufacturing to the military — is applicable to anyone who feels crushed by e-mails and finds their time collapsing in the busy lives so many lead today.
During her keynote address — set for 1 p.m. following a noontime luncheon — Funt will bring a wealth of instantly applicable tools for audience members to use in their over-busy, multi-tasking, screen-oriented lives.
As a busy corporate speaker and consultant, business owner, wife, and mother, she practices on a daily basis the WhiteSpace concept she shares with clients. WhiteSpace is improvised or scheduled time and thought for which one has no predetermined agenda or plan. It is open, uncommitted time during which one’s thoughts can be flexible and free-form. It is the time during which strategic thinking occurs, creativity can soar, and focus returns.
Registration for the conference begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast and time to visit exhibitor displays. The morning session begins at 9:30 a.m. with a presentation by stylist Debbie Wright that includes a fashion show and live makeovers on stage. There will also be a question-and-answer session with Wright and her team on beauty and style, and a selection of her books will be available for purchase. The morning will also feature a wellness presentation and stretch session with Lynn Ostrowski, director of Corporate Relations and Brand at Health New England in Springfield.
Registration, including conference materials, lunch, and exhibitor displays, is $40 for Spirit of Women members and $60 for non-members. Checks should be made payable to Baystate Health and mailed to Baystate Health, c/o Spirit of Women, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199. Registration is also available by calling (800) 377-4325 or online at baystatehealth.org/spiritofwomen.
