Baystate Dietitians Named to Board

SPRINGFIELD — Several Baystate Health registered dietitians have been elected to serve on the Western Area Massachusetts Dietetic Association (WAMDA) Board of Directors for the year 2006-07.

The elected president of WAMDA is Sandra Knoll, RD, a dietitian who works in the Wesson Women and Infants’ Unit at Baystate Medical Center.

Also named are Lora Warren, RD, a dietitian in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Children’s Hospital, who will serve as programming planning chairperson; Cheryl Pelland-Lak, RD, a dietitian in Cardiac Rehab at Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield and at the Wesson Women’s Clinic at Baystate Medical Center, who will serve on the nominating committee; and Jesse Golden, RD, a dietitian serving the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Progressive Care Unit (part of Cardiac Intensive Care) at Baystate Medical Center, named executive secretary.

In addition, Judy Dowd, RD, program coordinator for Bariatric Surgery at Baystate Medical Center, was elected chairperson of the Annual Fitness 5K Road Race and Health Fair, held each year on the first Saturday of March at Look Park in Northampton. She will be assisted by Alison Roy, RD, from Cardiac Rehab at Baystate Medical Center; and Clair Norton, RD, from the Wesson Women’s Clinic at Baystate Medical Center.
