BFMC Announces Family Portrait Opportunity

GREENFIELD — Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Employee United Way Campaign Committee is sponsoring a family portrait opportunity at Hallmark Institute of Photography to raise money for the United Way of Franklin County. The portrait date is Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hallmark Institute of Photography on Industrial Boulevard, off Millers Falls Road in Turners Falls.

Sittings will be scheduled in 15-minute intervals, with students from Hallmark Institute taking the portraits. There is a $25 sitting fee which must be paid before the reservation can be confirmed. Various photo packages will be available at reasonable prices. Enlargements ordered at the sitting will be ready for pickup at Baystate Franklin Medical Center within two weeks. All sitting fees and proceeds from photoenlargement sales will be donated to the United Way of Franklin County.

“We are very excited that Hallmark Institute and its student photographers agreed to collaborate with us on this special fund-raiser again this year,” said Lynda Zukowski, assistant director of Clinical Services. Zukowski is co-chairing this year’s BFMC campaign with Deborah Palmeri, chief nursing officer at the hospital.

Added Palmieri, “the first year we worked with Hallmark, we offered this opportunity to Baystate Franklin Medical Center employees only. The photographs were beautiful, and everyone loved their portraits, so we thought it would be nice to offer the opportunity to the public. You can get a great family portrait and support our local United Way at the same time.”

Families can include their wellbehaved pets in their portraits if they choose. When booking an appointment, please state that a pet will be coming along. For more information or to schedule a sitting, contact Sarah Gagaris at (413) 773-2208.
