BFMC Sponsors Event on Hospital Medicine Program

GREENFIELD — Spirit of Women at Baystate Franklin Medical Center will sponsor a free program, “Getting to Know You: Dinner with the Hospitalists” on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital’s main conference rooms. The guest speaker will be Dr. Sohail Waien, accompanied by the BFMC team of hospitalists.
Program participants will have the opportunity to meet some of the hospitalists during this informal ‘getting-to-know-you’ dinner.  They will learn about the Hospital Medicine Program, the benefits hospitalists offer patients, and how hospitalists contribute to the overall care of patients. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to and have questions answered by these providers.
The hospitalist program at Baystate Franklin Medical Center began in 2004. The hospitalist team consists of internal-medicine-trained physicians who provide 24-hour care to patients admitted to the facility. The hospitalist works closely with the patient’s primary-care provider and coordinates all aspects of their care.
There is no charge for the program, but pre-registration is required. To register for “Getting to Know You,” or for more information on joining Spirit of Women, call Baystate Health Link at (800) 377-4325 or register online at baystatehealth.org/spiritofwomen.
