CDH Offers Sneak Peek at New Heart Lab

NORTHAMPTON – Cooley Dickinson Hospital recently staged an open house to introduce members of the community to its new cardiovascular services suite.

A summer opening is planned for a multi-purpose cardiovascular suite designed to offer a wide array of services — never before offered at CDH — that will include:

• Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, the gold standard for diagnostic heart care;
• Electrophysiology studies that look at the electrical currents of the heart and diagnose the electrical pathways of the heart;
• Implantable pacemakers and defibrillators that correct and treat abnormal heart rhythms.

Eventually, CDH will offer peripheral vascular interventions, studies that involve the arteries and veins of the body.
