Ethical Issues Seminar Set For May 3 At Baystate Medical Center

SPRINGFIELD — Baystate Medical Center will offer area nurses a daylong program, Ethical Issues in Medical Surgical Nursing, on May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Delaney House in Holyoke.
The program, designed for nurses working in adult medicine, adult surgery, critical care, and cardiac care, will discuss applying ethical concepts into their daily practice.
Topics for the program include “The Domain of Ethics,” “Ethical Principles,” “What’s Ethical?” and more.

The program will be led by Christine Mitchell, RN, MS, MTS, FAAN, director of the Office of Ethics at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. Mitchell developed the ethics program at the Children’s Hospital and serves as an ethics consultant for Mass. General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and North Shore Medical Center.
