Free Talk to Focus on Bio-identical Hormones

EAST LONGMEADOW — A free talk titled “Bio-identical Hormones: What’s It All About?” will take place on Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Quantum Life Management Center at 30 Westwood Ave., East Longmeadow.

Attendees will hear about bio-identical hormones as an alternative to traditional hormone-replacement therapy for the symptoms of menopause. Jenifer Fleming of the Counseling & Gynecology Group in East Longmeadow will inform people about the options, risks, and benefits involved in bio-identical hormones.

Fleming is a certified nurse midwife who has worked in women’s health care for 25 years. She is a practitioner of contemporary therapies and specializes in caring for women throughout their life cycles.

Serving as a nurse practitioner at the Counseling & Gynecology Group, she offers a broad range of treatment options from adolescent reproductive health and sexuality to alternative care during menopause. With degrees and certifications from the University of Sussex in England, the University of Glasgow in Scotland, Yale University, and the American College of Nurse Midwives, she has also served as a consultant to the Boston Women’s Health Book Collective.

Fleming’s presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session, as well as free information on subjects regarding menopause. Early arrivers will receive a free gift for attending. There is no charge to attend the event. For more information, call (413) 525-4546.
