Golf Tournament Raises $130,000 For Brightside

WEST SPRINGFIELD — More than 300 golfers played at three local courses — Crestview Country Club, Springfield Country Club, and Twin Hills Country Club in the Brightside Golf Classic on July 28, raising a record $130,000 in the process.
Over the past decade, several banks, including Banknorth, Chicopee Savings Bank, Bank of Western Mass., Easthampton Savings Bank, Florence Savings Charitable Foundation Inc., PeoplesBank, United Cooperative Bank, Westbank, Country Bank for Savings, Westfield Bank, Woronoco Savings Charitable Foundation, and Hampden Bank, have banded together as platinum sponsors ($5,000) or gold sponsors ($3,000) for the event.

This year’s other platinum sponsors included the Basketball Hall of Fame, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc., Pioneer Health Group Inc., and Sandler O’Neill & Partners, LP.

“Each day I see a child at Brightside in need of a positive experience,” said Robert E. Simpson, chief operating officer of the Sisters of Providence Health System Behavioral Health Network. “The contributors to this tournament enable our staff to create a lasting series of positive experiences and memories that ensure a sense of happiness for their future.”
