Hart Named Imaging Center Manager

PITTSFIELD — Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) announced the appointment of Kathy A. Hart, RN as program manager for the Women’s Imaging Center, scheduled to open this winter.

Hart has served as a nurse at BMC since 1987, working in the Emergency Department as a charge nurse in Express Care.

Located in the BMC Medical Arts Complex, the Women’s Imaging Center will combine the two current mammography departments. The center is designed to promote a feeling of calm and peacefulness, featuring coordinated services, a second private waiting room, educational resources, and a separate consultation room.

In her new role, Hart will primarily manage the Women’s Imaging Center program for support and education for those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. She will also provide community outreach for women’s health issues. She is a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society, a member of its breast health team and a trained facilitator for “I Can Cope,” an educational series for cancer patients and their families. She has also completed certification as a breast health specialist.
