HMC Names New Nursing Directors

HOLYOKE — Holyoke Medical Center Vice President of Inpatient Services Clark A. Fenn has announced the appointment of two new nursing directors at the facility.

 

Helen Arnold, R.N., M.S., has been named director of Medical/Surgical Nursing and the Transitional Care Center, while James Keefe, R.N., has been named director of Operations/Inpatient Services. Both are longtime employees of the Medical Center.

Arnold, a resident of Holyoke, graduated from Greenfield Community College in 1976, earning an associate’s degree in Nursing. She obtained her bachelor of science in Nursing degree in 1994 from Elms College, and a master’s of science in Health Administration degree in 2000 from Springfield College.

She worked at North Beach Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 1976 to 1977, and has been an employee of Holyoke Medical Center since 1977. Arnold is also an adjunct clinical instructor at Greenfield Community College. She serves on the Board of Directors of Springfield Human Services and is president of the Parish Council with St. Jerome’s Parish in Holyoke.

Keefe, a resident of Belchertown, graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in Engineering Science. He obtained his bachelor of science in Nursing degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University.

He has worked at Holyoke Medical Center since 1981 and during that time has worked as a staff nurse, Critical Care nurse, clinical supervisor, nurse manager, Perioperative Services manager, manager of employment and staffing in Nursing and coordinator of the Neuroscience Center, prior to assuming his current position.
