Hospitals and Health Centers Share $37.5M in Grants

BOSTON — The Patrick Administration recently announced it has awarded $37.5 million in FY ’08 grants from the state’s Essential Community Provider Trust Fund to 69 hospitals and community health centers across the state.
The goal of the trust fund is to improve providers’ abilities to serve populations in need more effectively and efficiently through community based care; clinical support; disease management; primary care; care coordination, and pharmacy management services.

In Western Mass., grant recipients include the Caring Health Center Inc., in Springfield, $50,000; Community Health Center of Franklin County, in Turners Falls, $75,000; Community Health Center of the Berkshires Children’s Health Program Inc., in Great Barrington, $50,000; Cooley Dickinson Hospital, in Northampton, $500,000; Baystate Franklin Medical Center, in Greenfield, $325,000; Hilltown Community Health Centers, in Worthington, $100,000; Holyoke Health Center, $400,000; Holyoke Medical Center, $2.25 million; Providence Behavioral Health Hospital, in Holyoke, $5 million; Noble Hospital, in Westfield, $1 million, and North Adams Regional Hospital, $2 million.
