Leckie Earns CHT Credential

WESTFIELD — Carey Leckie, an occupational therapist at the Noble Hospital Sports and Rehabilitation Center, has earned CHT (certified hand therapist) designation after recently completing all required examinations and clinical studies.

The credential was awarded by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission Inc., the only organization granting hand therapy certification in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. The requirements include at least five years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, a minimum of 4,000 hours in direct practice in hand therapy, and successful completion of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper-quarter rehabilitation.

Fewer than 4,000 people hold the designation.

Leckie has been employed by Noble Hospital for seven years.
