Mercy Named to ‘Honor Roll’

SPRINGFIELD — Harvard Pilgrim Health has named Mercy Medical Center to its new “Hospital Honor Roll,” the first such review of New England hospitals based on national quality measures. Hospitals selected for the Honor Roll have scored in the top 25{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} of those measured nationally on a set of quality and patient safety measures. Mercy is one of only 15 hospitals in Massachusetts to achieve this distinction.

“This achievement truly credits the entire staff at Mercy Medical Center for their across-the-board commitment to providing the highest quality patient care, and their dedicated service that offers hope and healing,” said Vincent McCorkle, president and CEO of the Sisters of Providence Health System.

Information for the honor roll was taken from quality measures reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid on its Hospital Compare (www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov) and Leapfrog (www.leapfroggroup.org) Web sites.

Honor Roll hospitals are noted in Harvard Pilgrim’s printed and online provider directories, enabling consumers to evaluate and select hospitals based on quality measures.
