Nursing Professors Join AIC Faculty

SPRINGFIELD — The division of nursing at American International College has added two professors to their faculty roster. 

Elizabeth George of Worcester has been named professor of nursing. George worked at Becker College in Worcester, and also works as a nurse in the inpatient psychiatric unit at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Clark University in Worcester, and her master’s degree from Boston University. She continues to take post-master’s courses in nursing, gerontology and education. She has also participated in a number of Earthwatch projects in China, Thailand, Kenya and Vietnam, and hopes to offer self-defense training courses for nurses at their work sites.

Moira O’Shea has been named assistant professor of nursing. A resident of Suffield, Conn., Shea earned her bachelor’s degree at Salve Regina College in Newport, R.I., and earned her master’s degree from Anna Maria College in Paxton. She has experience as a staff nurse and school nurse, and has been a nursing instructor at Holyoke Community College and Elms College.
