Orchard Valley at Wilbraham to Host Presentation on Alzheimer’s

WILBRAHAM — Orchard Valley at Wilbraham will host an informational presentation conducted by Springfield Neurology Associates on Wednesday, April 5 from 4 to 5 p.m. This free event will be held at 2387 Boston Road and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

Attendees to this presentation will learn more about early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias, what one can expect with memory-loss progression, tips for families and caregivers, and information on current treatments and clinical trials. Springfield Neurology Associates, LLC conducts independent research and specialty care with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disease. Over time, Alzheimer’s can affect behavior, personality, and language. Current medications can help manage some of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s, but there is no cure for the disease. Doctors are researching new kinds of therapies that may help better manage these symptoms in the future, which will be discussed in this presentation.
