Spirit of Women, BFMC Present Program on Varicose Veins

GREENFIELD — Spirit of Women at Baystate Franklin Medical Center will host “Legs: Looking Good & Feeling Better,” focusing on varicose veins, on Monday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital’s main conference rooms. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jeffrey Kaufman, vascular surgeon at Baystate Medical Practices – Franklin Multi-Specialty.

Varicose veins are often associated with skin discoloration, inflammation, pigmentation, or hardening of the surrounding tissues. Usually occurring in the legs and feet, they may be a cosmetic concern because of their darkened appearance. Kaufman will discuss the types of veins in the body and contributing factors, symptoms, and treatments for varicose veins.

Kaufman received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his internship and residency at Mass General Hospital. He is board-certified in vascular surgery.

There is no charge for the program, and refreshments will be served. To register, call (800) 377-4325.
