Is the person suffering from
a sudden loss of balance
or coordination?

Eyesight Loss
Do they have sudden double vision,
or loss of vision in one or both eyes?

Facial Drooping
Is one side of their face drooping?

Arm Weakness
Can they keep their arms up,
or does one arm drift down?

Speech Difficulty
Do they suddenly have
difficulty speaking or is their
speech slurred or strange?

Time to Call 911
If they have any one of these signs,
it’s time to call 9-1-1 immediately.
Stroke is a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. It results from a blockage or
narrowing of arteries leading to these organs. It is currently one of the leading causes
of death and disability in the United States.
Our multidisciplinary stroke team includes emergency medicine providers, Vascular/
Stroke neurologists, Stroke-trained nurses, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and
rehabilitation specialists. Together they provide a coordinated rapid response system
for treating stroke patients.
