Mary Lane Awarded Accreditation

WARE — Mary Lane Hospital, a member of the Baystate Health System, and the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Western New England, a service of Baystate Health System at Mary Lane Hospital, have achieved a full three-year accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accredi-tation of Healthcare Organizations.
The Joint Commission’s on-site survey of Mary Lane resulted in a score of 93 out of a possible 100, and the VNA at Mary Lane Hospital earned a 99, again out of 100. Both surveys took place in June.

The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 17,000 health care organizations and programs in the U.S. An independent, not-for-profit organization, JCAHO is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.

Christine Shirtcliff, executive vice president of Mary Lane, said the accreditation is a tribute to the dedicated team of health care professionals at the facility.
“The challenge for hospitals is to provide quality care with limited resources,” she said. “At Mary Lane Hospital, the tradition of quality care continues through innovative care delivery and a diligent focus on the patient.”
