Mental Health Education Fair Slated for May 3

NORTHAMPTON — To address findings from a recent health assessment, Cooley Dickinson Hospital will host its first annual Mental Health Education Fair on May 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Dakin Conference Room at the hospital. The event is free and open to the public.
A top issue identified in CDH’s 2013 community health assessment was mental health, which includes conditions or illnesses such as depression. Many Hampshire County residents said mental health is a concern, and that they’d like more access to services and programs to help people living with mental illness and their families and friends.
To address these findings and to recognize National Mental Health Month in May, Cooley Dickinson and area agencies, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Western Mass., invite local residents to attend.
Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz will address the fair as well.
