1st Annual Health & Wellness Fair Slated
SPRINGFIELD — On August 17, from the hours of 3 to 6 p.m., The Springfield Department of Health & Human Services will be having a Health & Wellness event, which seeks to bring out high school aged youth and parents.
With the growing issue of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) use in our community, the Springfield Department of Health and Human Services feels there is a need to educate community members on the facts regarding youth substance use. Event organizers will be highlighting healthy alternatives to decrease the likelihood of the onset of youth use.
Parents are encouraged to take in this event. They can obtain information, learn about available resources, win prizes, and more. Free refreshments will be served.
Sponsors and contributors include DJ KLS, Sodexo, Trampoline Sports, LA Fitness, Friendly’s Ice Cream, and Walgreens Pharmacy.
The Community Health & Wellness Event is sponsored by the Springfield Department of Health & Human Services along with other community organizations and businesses, with the goal of bringing communities together to fight and reduce youth substance use.
