22nd Annual WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital Slated for March 7-8
SPRINGFIELD — Hundreds of inspiring stories come out of Baystate Children’s Hospital every year, some of which will be told during the 22nd annual 94.7 WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 7-8.
Among the many stories shared will be that of Hattie Avigliano, who spent the first three months of her life in the Davis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and triplets Paul, Brandon, and Jackson Dube, who entered the world 10½ weeks before they were expected.
This year’s Radiothon returns in-person after the pandemic precluded public participation, and will be held at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, home to the 94.7 WMAS studios. The public is invited to join in the fun at the Hall of Fame, where they can have their photo taken on the red carpet, make a donation, and get a sneak peek at the 94.7 WMAS Kellogg Krew broadcasting live.
“We are so thrilled to be back in person for this year’s Radiothon and cannot wait to welcome the public to our home at the Basketball Hall of Fame,” 94.7 WMAS’s Chris Kellogg said. “Our team looks forward to sharing these stories and showing our community the impact of Baystate Children’s Hospital.”
Radiothon hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Listeners can call to donate via the Lia Auto Group Phone Bank at (413) 794-1111 during Radiothon hours, visit wmaskids.com, or text WMASKIDS to 36413.
“We rely on the generosity of donors to help support Baystate Children’s Hospital, the only accredited, full-service children’s hospital in Western Massachusetts,” said Scott Berg, vice president of Philanthropy at Baystate Health and executive director of the Baystate Health Foundation. “The stories you will hear on air during the Radiothon represent the real impact the hospital has on young patients and highlights the importance of all donations staying local to support children right here in our community.”
Baystate Children’s Hospital is one of 170 fundraising Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. All money raised locally goes directly to Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield in support of children’s health programs and services.
Major sponsors for the Radiothon include Health New England, Lia Auto Group, Pioneer Valley Credit Union, Eversource, City Tire, PeoplesBank, Freedom Credit Union, and USA Waste & Recycling.
