Alzheimer’s Assoc., HCC to Host Free Brain-health Cooking Demo Aug. 4
HOLYOKE — The Alzheimer’s Assoc., in partnership with Holyoke Community College (HCC), will host a free brain-health cooking demonstration and sampling on Friday, Aug. 4 at the HCC MGM Culinary Arts Institute, 164 Race St., Holyoke.
The “Brain Health Can Start in the Kitchen” program will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes a presentation on the importance of healthy eating to potentially lower the risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Attendees will learn about research on nutrition, exercise, and social engagement as they relate to brain health.
The program also includes a cooking demonstration from Marissa Chiapperino, a member of the HCC Culinary Arts faculty, and the opportunity to sample brain-healthy snacks.
