Alzheimer’s Assoc. Officials to Address Springfield Rotary Club

SPRINGFIELD —
Dr. Stephen Hume and Bianca Walker from the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Assoc. will address the Springfield Rotary Club’s luncheon meeting on Friday, June 5. Their topic will be “The Alzheimer’s Association: The Brains Behind Saving Yours?”

Hume, a chapter board member, will talk about his personal experience with this disease and how his diagnosis changed his life. Walker is the chapter’s development officer and manages all fund-raising initiatives for the association in Western Mass.

Additionally, the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27 at Holyoke Community College. It is the largest fund-raising and awareness event for the association, uniting the community — family, friends, co-workers, social and religious groups, and more — in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against this devastating disease. There is no fee to register; however, each participant is encouraged to raise funds in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the MassMutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue, Springfield, and is a proud member of Rotary International. The June 5 luncheon is $17 per person and is open to the public.
