Amherst Area Chamber, Cooley Dickinson Offer Two Scholarships
AMHERST — The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce and Cooley Dickinson Health Care announced a combined commitment to the Amherst Regional High School (ARHS) scholarship program. The scholarship awards are made possible through funds raised by the chamber’s annual golf tournament scheduled for July 18 at Hickory Ridge.
For the past 12 years, Cooley Dickinson and the chamber have funded two $1,000 scholarships to deserving ARHS seniors who plan to study any business-related field at UMass Amherst. Last year, the scholarship program was expanded to include ARHS seniors who will pursue any healthcare-related degree at UMass. A scholarship is earmarked for each major.
“Cooley Dickinson is pleased to support the Amherst Regional High School scholarship program,” said Georgia Moore, director of Leadership Gifts for Cooley Dickinson Health Care. “Partnerships like these, both with the local students and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, advance our community in many ways. It’s an honor to represent Cooley Dickinson and to support our future leaders with opportunities to advance their education.”
Added Amherst Area Chamber Executive Director Don Courtemanche, “the chamber counts among its most treasured programs the ability to fund scholarships for two worthy students pursuing either of these related fields of study. This partnership would not be possible without the support of Cooley Dickinson and the generous individuals and corporations that make a continued investment in the chamber’s annual golf tournament each and every year.”
The deadline for applications is May 1. Applications can be obtained by contacting the chamber or the ARHS Guidance Office at (413) 362-1720.
