Annual Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run Slated for Oct. 13
SPRINGFIELD — The 12th annual Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run to benefit Mercy Medical Center’s Sister Caritas Cancer Center is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13. The day will begin with registration at 10 a.m. and kickstands up at noon. The ride will begin at Southwick Recreation Center at 64 Powder Mill Road, Southwick, and will end at the Polish American Club of Agawam at 139 Southwick St., Feeding Hills.
This event is open to all riders, non-riders, families, and friends. The entry fee for the Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run is $20 per person in advance. All proceeds will be donated to the Patient Services Fund at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center. Riders are encouraged to wear their best pink outfits. Following the run, event participants, families, and friends may take part in the after-party at the Polish American Club, which will include food, a cash bar, raffles, vendors, activities, and live entertainment.
Event organizer and founder Bob Kaine Alves is a cancer survivor who was treated at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, and he began the Wicked in Pink Motorcycle Run to show his thanks for the care he received. Alves also wants to show support to all those battling cancer and cancer survivors, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers.
