Baroco Corp. Expands Day Habilitation Services with New Program in Holyoke

HOLYOKE — Baroco Corp., a provider of community-based support services, announced the launch of its new program in Holyoke. This strategic expansion increases access to high-quality day habilitation and skill-building services across Western Mass., addressing an urgent need for person-centered support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The new Holyoke site is designed to deliver innovative programming that fosters independence and social connection. By focusing on hands-on learning, vocational exploration, and inclusive activities, the program creates new pathways for individuals to build practical life skills. The facility will serve as a hub for community engagement, offering participants opportunities to volunteer, form lasting relationships, and contribute meaningfully to the local area.

To celebrate this milestone, Baroco will host a grand opening event on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at 231 South St, Holyoke. The event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Joshua Garcia, complimentary refreshments, and the chance to meet the local staff. An open house will follow, offering tours and opportunities for attendees to learn more about Baroco’s innovative services.

“We are thrilled to open our new Holyoke program. This location marks an important step in expanding access to meaningful day habilitation services across Western Massachusetts,” said Omar Abdullah, vice president of Growth Initiatives at Baroco Corp. “Our goal is not only to serve more individuals, but to deepen the quality of care, connection, and belonging in every community we enter.”

Founded in 1983, Baroco distinguishes itself through a family-centered approach that prioritizes dignity and choice. Rather than simply providing services, the organization builds inclusive spaces where individuals are celebrated for their unique contributions. The Holyoke program reflects this philosophy, combining professional expertise with creative programming to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity.
