Baystate Franklin Medical Center to Celebrate Organ Donors, Recipients

GREENFIELD — In anticipation of National Donate Life America (NDLM), Baystate Franklin Medical Center will be celebrating donors and recipients of organs, eyes, and tissues during a flag-raising event on Wednesday, March 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Special guests will include two organ recipients. Wendy Fitt, from LifeChoice, also will be on hand for the ceremony, which will take place in the main-entrance lobby. Lunch will be provided.

National Donate Life America is celebrated in April each year to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation. Currently, nearly 123,000 men, women, and children are awaiting organ transplants in the U.S.
