Baystate Franklin Medical Center Volunteers to Host Artisan Fair April 3
GREENFIELD — Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Volunteer Services Department and Artisans of Western Mass. will host an April Artisan Fair this Friday, April 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s main conference rooms. Funds raised from the event will support the BFMC volunteers’ Media Lending Program.
“The Media Lending Program is designed to help connect patients and their family members to resources within the community, as well as provide entertainment and relaxation for those who are here for periods of time,” explained Becky George, Volunteer Services manager. “Patients will be able to listen to health-related podcasts; access the internet, e-mail, and social media; play games; read e-books; or listen to music. We hope it will help make their stays at BFMC more pleasant.”
Artisans will display such crafts as jewelry, pottery, wood, felting, upcycled products, quilting, photography, and much more.
“If you love unique, locally crafted items, shop here for such occasions as Mother’s Day, birthdays, graduation, or upcoming holidays,” said George. “And be sure to treat yourself to something special.”
