Baystate Health to Hold Two Free Virtual Lectures for Stroke Awareness Month
SPRINGFIELD — Baystate Health will offer a free virtual Stroke Awareness Month lecture series during the month of May. Both events are available to the general public.
“Time Lost Is Brain Lost: The Urgency of Stroke Awareness Month” will take place on Wednesday, May 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. Dr. Varun Naragum will explain why recognizing stroke as an emergency is crucial. He will help attendees explore the warning signs and symptoms to watch for and learn how immediate medical intervention can make the difference between life and death.
“The Road to Recovery: Advances in Stroke Treatment” will follow on Wednesday, May 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. Dr. Janhavi Modak will explain how timely intervention can be the key to effective recovery when it comes to stroke. Attendees will discover the latest breakthroughs in stroke treatment and how these interventions can significantly improve recovery, reduce long-term disability, and help patients regain their independence and quality of life.
