Baystate Health to Host Interactive Fall-prevention Event on Oct. 30

HOLYOKE — Baystate Rehabilitation Care experts and clinical pharmacist Danyel Adams will host an interactive event on fall prevention on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Baystate Health Education Center, 361 Whitney Ave., Holyoke.

The discussion will include individual risk factors, with instructions for specific exercises to improve balance; cognitive strategies to reduce risk of falling; information about environmental safety and equipment that may help prevent falls; a falls-prevention checklist and prevention strategies; the impact of medications; and information about the types of fall injuries.

All are welcome, and there is no cost for the event. Registration is available at baystatehealth.org.
