Baystate Health’s Tyonne Hinson Recognized as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader
SPRINGFIELD — Baystate Health announced that Tyonne Hinson, senior vice president and chief Diversity, Health Equity, and Inclusion officer, has been recognized as a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare by several organizations.
Modern Healthcare recently named Hinson a Diversity Leader Rising Star for 2024. The criteria for this designation include having made a measurable impact at their company and/or in the healthcare industry in the past 12 months, managing a team or serving in a leadership role, and self-identifying as a person of color or self-identifying as LGBTQ+.
The publication recognized Hinson for her work developing a diversity, equity, and inclusion framework which was approved by the board of trustees, hosting an interfaith roundtable aimed at furthering community-based outreach, and supporting the Alliance for Digital Equity.
Additionally, Hinson was named among the top health-system chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officers to know by Becker’s Hospital Review in August.
According to the publication, leaders on the list are “implementing training programs, instituting business-resource groups, developing scholarship initiatives, and refining recruitment practices. Their efforts support diverse populations and advance health equity within their organizations and communities.”
Becker’s recognizes Hinson for developing programs and initiatives that support equity in the delivery of healthcare and eliminate disparities in healthcare outcomes, as well as creating an inclusive environment for a diverse group of healthcare workers.
