Baystate Hosts ‘In the Spirit of Giving’ Employee Toy Drive
SPRINGFIELD — Baystate Medical Center will host the “In the Spirit of Giving” employee-driven community toy drive this morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the hospital’s Chestnut Conference Center, Rooms 1A and B, 759 Chestnut St., Springfield. The event will feature a performance by the Lincoln Elementary School Choir.
Baystate Medical Center employees, as well as some area businesses, are getting in the spirit by giving back to the community. As part of the toy drive, Baystate employees will deliver unwrapped toys for all ages to the hospital’s Chestnut Conference Center from 10 to 11 a.m.
Local businesses are getting in the spirit, too! At 9:30 a.m., DAS Alarm Systems Inc. will stop by to contribute a delivery of toys to the drive. These toys will benefit the sick children that are spending the holidays in the hospital. DAS Alarm Systems Inc. is a small business located in Westfield that provides fire and security services from Western Mass. to Worcester and all of Connecticut.
For the past nine years, toys have been distributed to patients and families in need at Baystate Health’s three community health centers — Baystate Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center, Baystate High Street Health Center, and Baystate Brightwood Health Center — as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services and New North Citizens’ Council.
