Baystate Mary Lane Medical Staff Donates $75,000 in Gifts
WARE — On behalf of the Baystate Mary Lane medical staff, Dr. Scott Siege announced that a total of $75,000 has been awarded as gifts to benefit Ware and area communities.
Siege, who serves as chair of the Department of Pediatrics for Baystate Wing Hospital and the medical director for Baystate Medical Practices, Quabbin Pediatrics/Quabbin Adult Medicine in Ware, said the gifts from the medical staff include $35,000 to the Baystate Mary Lane Emergency Department; $30,000 to the Quaboag Connector, a local transportation initiative; and $10,000 to the Baystate Health Eastern Region Community Benefits Advisory Council.
“These gifts have been made possible from the medical staff dues paid by Baystate Mary Lane physicians over several years,” Siege explained. “The purpose of these gifts is to positively impact the lives of people living in Ware and surrounding communities. The medical staff confidently awarded these gifts to these organizations because they are already doing great work in our community. The medical staff wanted to support this work and help them to do more.”
In 2016, when the Baystate Mary Lane medical staff joined forces with Baystate Wing Hospital physicians, they became one united medical staff representing Baystate Health’s Eastern Region. Baystate Mary Lane physicians chose to donate their dues, which are no longer collected, to the community.
