Baystate Mary Lane Plans Holiday Celebration of Health for Women
WARE — Area women are invited to attend a pre-holiday event sponsored by Baystate Health’s Every Women Program on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Baystate Mary Lane in Ware. The event will include bone-density screening, hand treatments, makeup tips, holiday gift ideas, and an opportunity for women to have their annual mammogram.
“We welcome women of all ages to join this pre-holiday event,” said Susan Fontaine, senior coordinator of Loyalty Programs for Baystate Health. “This is a great opportunity for women to relax, learn, socialize, shop, and even receive some health screenings prior to the holiday season kicking off.”
Dr. Oscar Martinez, medical director, Baystate Women’s Health for Baystate Health’s Eastern Region, will present “Menopause: The Hot Topic” from 6 to 7 p.m. as part of the evening’s offerings. The program will include information about menopause, including symptoms, treatments, hormone-replacement therapy, nutrition, exercise, stress, sexuality, and alternative treatments. The event and lecture are offered at no cost, and a complimentary light supper is included.
The Baystate Health Every Woman program offers the latest women’s health information through seminars with physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. The program is designed to increase knowledge of women’s health issues and provide the information women need to make the best decisions regarding their health.
