Baystate Medical Center Announces Temporary Traffic-flow Changes
SPRINGFIELD — Baystate Medical Center is starting construction on new operating rooms, which will feature state-of-the-art equipment and resources needed for the highest levels of surgical care.
Starting this week, Medical Center Drive will temporarily change to one-way. The entrance will be at Springfield Street, and visitors must exit through Chapin Terrace. Drivers will need to turn left as they leave the parking areas and continue past the Medical Office Building to exit the campus at Chapin Terrace. Traffic will still be able to enter and exit via Chapin Terrace during this time.
Signage will be up to direct visitors. BMC workers will also be directing traffic and answering questions.
The change to Medical Center Drive, which is in front of BMC’s main Daly entrance, will last about a year. To view a map of these traffic-flow changes and to check for construction updates, visit baystatehealth.org/patients/visiting/getting-here-and-around.
