Baystate Noble Oncology Unit Receives Donation from Holiday Concert
WESTFIELD — Baystate Noble Hospital’s Oncology Department was the recipient of proceeds from the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral annual holiday concert held on Dec. 6. Fr. Christopher Stamas from St. George presented the hospital with a check for more than $5,000.
The concert featured the Westfield State University Wind Symphony and Chorale, the St. George Grande Chorale, and the Progressive Community Baptist Church choir.
Baystate Noble Hospital thanked Stamas, St. George Cathedral parishioners, concert organizers, the performers, and Nicole Lipp — a breast-cancer survivor who received treatment at Baystate Noble Hospital — for selecting the Oncology Department as the recipient of concert funds again this year.
“We would like to thank St. George Cathedral for donating their Christmas concert proceeds to Baystate Noble Hospital. These funds will help patients in our Oncology unit going through cancer treatments,” said Allison Gearing-Kalill, the hospital’s vice president of Community Development. “Being a part of and attending the St. George concert has become a tradition that I hope we can continue for many years to come. It is a great way for everyone to get into the holiday spirit and support our community.”
