Baystate Ob/Gyn Group Welcomes Two Physicians
SPRINGFIELD — The providers and staff of Baystate Ob/Gyn Group Inc. recently welcomed two ob/gyn physicians to its practice: Dr. Madison Decman and Dr. Darlene Vargas Maldonado.
Decman’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in behavioral neuroscience from Lehigh University and a medical doctorate degree from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Baystate Medical Center, during which time the physicians and certified nurse midwives of Baystate Ob/Gyn Group worked with her before she joined the practice.
Her distinguished honors include the Excellence in Teaching award at Baystate Medical Center in 2021 and 2022 as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her medical training, she was involved in numerous research studies, presentations, and publications. She served in a number of medical leadership positions during her time at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and achieved the role of chief resident during her final year of residency at Baystate Medical Center, earning awards for Resident Teacher of the Year and Excellence in Outpatient Care.
Decman will be seeing patients in the Springfield and South Hadley offices of Baystate Ob/Gyn Group.
Vargas Maldonado has joined Baystate Ob/Gyn Group following a specialized training fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the Mayo Clinic. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico and a medical doctorate degree from Universidad Central del Caribe. She completed her residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.
She has earned numerous distinguished awards during her residency related to excellence in research, teaching, quality, and skills in urogynecology. Her clinical interests include pelvic-floor disorders, urinary incontinence, vaginal surgery, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pregnancy/postpartum care.
Vargas Maldonado will be seeing patients in the Springfield office of Baystate Ob/Gyn Group.
