Baystate Wing Offers Exercise and Injury-prevention Program
PALMER — The community is invited to join staff from the Baystate Wing Hospital Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation team for an education session about staying active and injury-free. The program, “Stay in the Game,” will be held in the Snow Conference Room on Wednesday, March 29, from 6 to 7 p.m.
“Nothing interferes with a fitness program like an injury,” said Lori Manseau, director of the Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy team in Palmer. “Whether you’re training, conditioning for an upcoming sports season, or getting back in shape, an injury can set you back from reaching your goals.”
Participants will learn about the most effective types of stretching, nutrition, and hydration that will help to avoid injury when working out. Physical therapist Dena Plante and physical therapist assistant Karen Kiernan will be on hand to answer questions and offer educational materials. The program is open to student athletes and adults interested in staying active and exercising without injury.
The Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation team at Baystate Wing Hospital provides a full range of rehabilitation services to help patients regain function and achieve recovery. For more information or to register, call (413) 370-5254.
