Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County Named Small Agency of The Year
GREENFIELD — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County (BBBSFC) was honored as Small Agency of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America during the 2022 Bigger Together Celebration.
Led by Executive Director Jennifer Webster, BBBSFC was recognized for its innovative and impactful mentor support initiative that brings together volunteer mentors with trainers and clinicians from the local community for professional support around common mentoring challenges. In the spirit of collaboration, BBBSFC invited mentors and staff from other agencies throughout Massachusetts and the entire National Federation to discussions on mental health, LGTBQIA support and educational advocacy.
“The aim of this initiative is to provide mentors and staff with additional tools to support and empower young people in times of trauma and healing,” said Webster. “We want to create safe and inclusive spaces to have hard conversations and allow folks to connect with peers who are facing similar challenges. We are proud to lead in this collective way and share this model throughout the BBBS Federation.”
Additionally the agency was recognized for their longstanding programs that utilize high school students as mentors for younger students in their district.
