BMLH Offers Program for Diabetics
WARE — Diabetes is a manageable disease, especially when a patient has the right information and understands what to do.
To that end, Baystate Mary Lane Hospital invites the community to attend the Diabetes Balancing Act, an educational program presented by Julie Parker Cyganiewicz. The program will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Conference Room located on the second floor of the hospital.
“Whether you have just learned you have diabetes or you have been living with diabetes for a while, it is important that you take care of yourself to prevent some of the serious problems diabetes can cause,” said Parker-Cyganiewicz, a registered nurse at BMLH. “By making lifestyle changes including watching your diet, exercising, losing weight, checking your blood sugar level, and taking your medication you can manage Type 2 diabetes and stay healthy.”
During the program, Parker Cyganiewicz will discuss real-life strategies for proper diabetes management, as well as ways to control diabetes to avoid complications. Healthy refreshments will be served. Registration is required by calling Baystate Health Link at (413) 967-2488 or (800) 377-4325.
