Discussion on ‘Bridging Health Care & Social Services’ Slated for Oct. 16
SPRINGFIELD — The Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation will present “Bridging Health Care & Social Services: How Do We Get It Right?” on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
The event, slated for 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Basketball Hall of Fame, is a public-health discussion on the link between healthcare and social-services spending, opportunities and policy options for better addressing the social determinants of health, and views from healthcare and social services.
Speakers include Lauren Taylor, author of The American Health Care Paradox: Why Spending More is Getting Us Less, and Dr. Mark Keroack, president and CEO of Baystate Health. A panel discussion with questions and answers will be held with members of the healthcare and social-service fields.
