Cancer Connection Launches Executive Director Search
NORTHAMPTON — The Cancer Connection is conducting a search for a permanent executive director.
According to Becky Jone, board president, “we’re a strong and vibrant nonprofit providing meaningful help to those traveling the cancer journey. We’re generating significant goodwill within this community. Under Kristen Elechko’s skillful interim leadership, our organization has been thriving.”
The center, which is well-known for integrative therapies offered for stress and pain relief, has expanded those options, and recently offered a metastatic breast-cancer retreat with Rays of Hope funding. “There had been no community of support for people living with metastatic breast cancer, but now they have found one another,” Jones said.
The organization was recently awarded a one-time, $50,000 grant by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through the efforts of a participant connected with the foundation. Meanwhile, the Cancer Connection Thrift Shop has been winning awards.
“Our donors, grants, and the Thrift Shop have helped us grow in staff and in the kinds and numbers of services we offer,” said Jones. “We feel well-poised to find a permanent executive director to take Cancer Connection to the next phase of its evolution.”
