CHD Cancer House of Hope to Host Lecture on Cancer Causes, Prevention
WEST SPRINGFIELD — The CHD Cancer House of Hope will host the third installment of an educational lecture series in partnership with the Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center. Join Dr. Philip Glynn on Wednesday, March 8 for a discussion about “Causes of Cancer and Tools for Prevention.”
The lecture is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Healing Arts Yoga Studio at the CHD Cancer House of Hope. Light refreshments will be served. Advance registration is requested by calling (413) 733-1858.
“Most of us know someone affected by cancer,” said Joe Kane, program director for the CHD Cancer House of Hope. “So what are the causes? How can we protect ourselves and our loved ones? This is a great opportunity for discussion, particularly coming on the heels of February, National Cancer Prevention Month. ”
According to Kane, this is the third in an ongoing series of lectures presented by the Sister Caritas Cancer Center and hosted by the CHD Cancer House of Hope. In January, Dr. Jeffrey Ochs talked about “Controversies in Prostate Cancer.”
Glynn serves as medical director at Mercy Medical Oncology and the Sister Caritas Cancer Center and oversees all aspects of the oncology program. Prior to his role at Mercy, he maintained a private practice in Springfield for more than 20 years. He is board-certified in medical oncology, palliative care and hospice medicine, and internal medicine.
