Caring Health Center Opens New Facility, Restores Services on Sumner Avenue

SPRINGFIELD — Caring Health Center (CHC) announced the grand opening of its newly relocated and expanded medical and dental facility at 473-477 Sumner Ave. A grand opening will take place on Monday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon, signifying both a fresh start and a renewed commitment to fully integrated community care.

Since its founding in 1995, CHC has steadily grown to serve 24 communities, enhancing equity through multi-lingual programming, free transportation, and no‑cost pharmacy delivery, while consistently centering the needs of individuals and families.

The new Sumner Avenue healthcare facility provides full‑service adult and pediatric medical care, dental services (including those previously housed at 532 Sumner Ave.), behavioral health support, and the Tania M. Barber Learning Institute, providing paid, on‑the‑job training for local residents pursuing careers in healthcare.

Earlier this year, a motor vehicle crashed into the CHC facility at 532 Sumner Ave., home to both medical and dental offices, causing significant structural damage. Services were temporarily relocated to sister facilities at 1049 Main St. and 1235 Boston Road.

“As we open our new facility, we honor our journey of resilience and community partnership,” President and CEO Tania Barber said. “This new location expands accessible healthcare, strengthens job training, and reaffirms our promise to serve our community with compassion, equity, and excellence.”

The Oct. 6 grand opening will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, guided tours, and remarks from CHC leadership and community partners.
