CDH’s Ultrasound Department Earns Reaccreditation
NORTHAMPTON — As a result of a recent successful survey by the American College of Radiology, ultrasound services at Cooley Dickinson Hospital have been reaccredited for the next three years.
Accreditation by ACR recognizes high-practice standards following a peer-review evaluation. ACR board-certified physicians and medical physicists evaluated the hospital’s ultrasound services by assessing the qualifications of the personnel and the caliber of the facility’s equipment.
Ultrasound team leader Sherry Grabon said she is extremely proud of her staff. “The team worked really hard, and their results paid off in a score of 96.8{06cf2b9696b159f874511d23dbc893eb1ac83014175ed30550cfff22781411e5} out of 100 on the recent reaccreditation. This score reflects the hard work and dedication of the team, and it affirms the high standard of care we deliver to our ultrasound patients who choose Cooley Dickinson Hospital for their care.”
Grabon said the high score also indicates that the department meets the strict requirements of the ACR for having registered sonographers, the proper equipment that is calibrated to specific standards, and radiologists that are trained to interpret the studies.
