Clinical & Support Options to Host Free Mental-health First-aid Training
NORTHAMPTON — Clinical & Support Options Inc. will offer mental-health first-aid training to the community at no cost on Oct. 20 and 22 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at 8 Atwood Dr., Northampton. This training is free and open to all individuals and organizations.
Similar to first aid and CPR, mental-health first aid (MHFA) teaches individuals how to help those experiencing mental-health challenges or crises. Mental-health challenges — such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance use — are common in the U.S.; in fact, more than one in five American adults will have a mental-health problem in any given year. The training helps the public better identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses.
