Clinical & Support Options to Open Family Resource Center in Amherst
AMHERST — Thanks to the grant-funded support of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Department of Children and Families, Clinical & Support Options Inc. has opened the Bridge Family Resource Center in Amherst.
The Bridge is one of a network of 16 Family Resource Centers being launched across the Commonwealth with a ‘do whatever it takes’ model to provide families and their children with culturally relevant and family-driven supports and events. The Bridge is located at 101 University Dr., Suite A8. It opens every weekday at 9 a.m. and closes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m.
The Bridge has a packed schedule of support groups, educational and life-skills classes, and a wide variety of art, recreation, music, play groups and other fun events. There are also designated drop-in hours to use the center’s computer lab, early-childhood playroom, or to just stop in for a game of ping pong. The Bridge also offers specialized services for families whose youth are experiencing difficulties with school attendance, behavioral challenges, and other hard-to-manage family issues.
The Bridge welcomes all to visit for an open house on Thursday, April 30 from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, drop in any time or call Program Director Kristal Cleaver at (413) 727-5009.
