CMIC Group Employees Donates $1,000 to First Tee of Connecticut
GLASTONBURY, Conn. — CMIC Group, a medical professional liability insurance company headquartered in Glastonbury, Conn., donated $1,000 to the First Tee of Connecticut. This resulted from a CMIC stepping competition in July, after which the winning team selected First Tee as its chosen charity to receive a donation.
The First Tee of Connecticut provides children across the state with golf instruction as well as a life-skills curriculum that includes nine core values — honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, courtesy, judgment, confidence, responsibility, and perseverance — and nine healthy habits, including energy, play, safety, vision, mind, family, friends, school, and community.
“We were very impressed with the work the First Tee of Connecticut does, not only in encouraging children to spend time outdoors learning the game of golf, but also in teaching them the principles associated with the nine core values, which will benefit them throughout their lives,” said Denise Funk, CMIC Group CEO.
Kevin Bresnahan, CMIC’s director of claims; Raymond Lilley, CMIC’s IT director; and Funk recently visited the First Tee headquarters in Cromwell, Conn. to present the contribution.
