Community Enterprises Hires New Director of Springfield Program
SPRINGFIELD — Richard W. Venne, president/CEO, announced the appointment of Theresa Cook to the position of director of Springfield Community Living. The director is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the Community Living program in Springfield. The director implements the organization’s mission and values by supporting individuals to make positive changes in their lives.
Cook was previously the director of Holyoke Community Living at Community Enterprises. She has worked with Community Enterprises for 27 years, and has more than 34 years of experience in housing and supports for individuals with disabilities.
Cook received her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College, Worcester, and her master’s degree in Social Work from Springfield College, Springfield.
Community Enterprises Inc. is a human service organization that provides employment, education, housing supports, and day supports for people with disabilities. Community Enterprises’ headquarters is located in Northampton, MA with its twenty-seven service locations located throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Kentucky. The Massachusetts offices include Springfield, Holyoke, Pittsfield, Greenfield, Worcester, Salem, Gloucester and Somerville. The non-profit organization, which started as a small program at the Northampton State Hospital, has grown to a $22,500,000 business in 2015.
